Every year the UK sets about celebrating and encouraging the use of cycles on this fair collection of islands. Not to be outdone, we joined in as well, and you'll find here the events that happened in and around Godalming.
Bike Week this year was from Saturday 19 June to Sunday 27 June, and you can find details of events all around the country at the main website.
Bring your cycle along to Crown Court in the middle of Godalming sometime between 10am and 2pm for a FREE checkover. Experienced examiners will test your machine against a professionally-produced check list, and give you accurate advice on any work needed to keep it running smoothly and safely. You keep the check list as well so that you can examine the bike yourself in the future.
Brand new this year, we're trying something different to tease you onto those bikes. Come rain or shine, we'll be setting off at 7.30 pm PROMPT every evening from the Pepperpot in Godalming High Street for a gentle ride of up to half an hour to one of the nicer pubs around by the quietest route we can find, and then pedal you back again to the Pepperpot by 9.30pm. And, er, that's why it's the Pepperpot Pedal.
We're doing a different destination every evening, and no, we're NOT telling you where we're going in advance. Little mysteries are always more fun....
All you have to do is turn up at 7.15 pm for a prompt 7.30 pm depart with a working cycle, appropriate clothing if it's a cool or damp evening, and LIGHTS. Although it won't be dark by the time we expect to arrive back, you MUST bring working front and rear lights with good batteries in case something holds us up.
